you are the silence in-between, what I thought and what I said.

I know this is a little late, but anyway- I WENT TO SEE FLORENCE +THE MACHINE ON TUESDAY!!

Without sounding like I'm gushing, Florence is just so fabulous; she runs around the stage, and pretends she going to fall off the stage, she spins without getting dizzy and also sometimes randomly screams. I have to say, Florence Welch is the grand high priestess of everything. 

Florence and her machine played all the classics- Spectrum, No light, No light, Drumming Song and obviously Dog days where all especially awesome. Florence also talked about an owl and also almost teared up when she started talking about England and how happy she was to be home (the show was the first in the UK.)  I'm sorry I haven't mentioned The Machine, so I will, the harp player was incredibly impressive. 

I honestly have not to been to a big arena-type concert like the that before and I have to say being in a huge crowd brought out the worst in me. I have never had such murderous feelings towards people over 6 foot before!

P.S - The only downside was that we had to wait an hour and a half to get out of the car park which was a bummer. 

atmospheric monocrome delights.

At the moment I am in love with this music video of Florence + the machine's- Heavy in your arms. as well as the song being just brilliant, It has to be one of florence's best videos even though it is by far the simplest. The video is a creepy atmospheric monochrome delight, where Florence's herself is being carried from place to place by a faceless man.

I find it interesting and refreshing how Florence is being carried (or dragged)  so unceremoniously she is not being cradled like she is precious or sacred she is being carried well....like a sack of flour. Everything about this video is unceremonious from the derelict buildings and muddy floors to florence's crumpled and ripped white dress. The video is not romantic or pretty in a general sense, it is striking in the way that it is filmed with light shafts illuminating Florence's face, and the stark contrast of Florence's dress against a grey background. In a way this video presents the song in a very literal sense the songs include the lyrics 'my feet dragged across the ground' and in the video you do see Florence's feet dragging along the ground. Although the video is very literal I don't think it make the video less intelligent or beautiful. The song conveys the idea of being a burden to someone and how sometimes its hard to just let go, for their benefit not just your own. The video shows the darkness of this situation; in the way that florence depends on the person carrying her and has no choice but to depend on them. But you still get the feeling that both characters want to get away from each other but entitlement keeps them together....Its honestly a beautiful video, do watch it.

P.S- Why Florence let this song be used in The Twilight Saga- Eclipse I do not know.

Hydrocarbons and Audrey Hepburn

Sinead has been mildly bugging me to show you this; why? I hear you ask.Well there is two pieces of Sinead's art on the this wall ( which happens to be my bedroom wall. ) The canvas is of Me (Sophie) in the middle, Sinead on my left and our Bestest tall friend - Holly on my right. I find this painting fabulous and delightful and also Sinead has been very generous when painting my face. The other piece of art is the card on the right of the picture, which is of my favourite person of all time ( and the person I think should run this earth) Florence Welch from Florence + the machine. My wall also includes revision sheets ( yawn ) an Italian poster of one of my favourite films 'Roman Holiday' and a postcard of four determined ladies in front of the eiffel tower.
