changeling

"Anyone between the ages of 10 and 21, you're about 200 different people."
-Patrick Wolf

being a teenager, its inevitable to experience so many emotions you can't count them. you're changeable and fickle and sometimes you hate yourself but sometimes you love yourself.
I remember a time when I was set in my ways that I was in love with the singer of Green Day, pink made me want to vom, and I was going to write comics when I grew up.

And now... I wear predominantly pastel colours (yes that includes pink), Patrick Wolf is my -imaginary- beau, I want to be a musician, and plastic-fantastic-everything rocks my world.

And I find myself defiant - almost proud - at all the stereotypes people stamp on me with every stare, every scowl, and every giggle behind my back.

Lesbian (archetypal).

Weirdo (which I am, actually).

Bitch (debatable, although I hate the term) .

I've ended up not caring about these labels. In fact, it's a clever thing to turn it around and turn it into an aesthetic thing. It takes confidence to call yourself derogatory terms just to be ironic, so I have yet to get the hang of that.

In other news, I am 30 minutes and 25 seconds in to the first episode of My Mad Fat Diary and I love it so much. It's so witty and honest and ..90s. Highly recommended.

and I mean to care for no-one

dusky pink pinafore dress -eBay. top -new look.

my new christmas jumper! -charity shop, £3.95

Yesterday Sophie and I went on a charity shop trawl and got some little treasures. I bought a green tartan shirt thing with shiny buttons and shoulderpads for £4 (I splashed out for vintage, sue me), a hideous/beautiful cat figurine for 50p, a book about Marilyn Monroe for £2.95 and a necklace (but I left the necklace in my purse, and I left my purse on a bus, wah).

In other news, I somehow fixed my old digital camera which is FAB (well not so much fixed as turned it on and it magically worked). Also I'm still working on my zine. I now need to buy a new ink roll thing for my typewriter so I can write the stuff in my zine.

I've been writing music like a child possessed.

I made Sophie buy Drop Dead Fred.

My emotions have been EVERYWHERE this weekend.

On repeat: I'm Through With Love by Marilyn Monroe.

hello, autumn

Hello possums

I haven't done a post that contains outfits in FOREVER, mainly because there is not an awful lot I can do with my school uniform and I just slob out in pyjamas when I get home from school. So here are some pictures from my Autumn so far.

But I thought, Autumn's here so I'll mark the beginning of the season with some clothes ~

This is my beauuuutiful Louche red Winter coat. I think it's cold enough to wear it now, so out it came; it's such a yummy shade of red and so so warm. ('scuse the mess behind me in the picture)

Fluffy faux fur collar and little black ribbon at the top.

I like the little details on this coat; like the tiny buttons on the back.

Don't know if you can make out the fact I'm with a cat here ^

My Topshop sailor jumper and woollen Banana Republic pleated skirt.

Hello Patrick calendar. Nice pout there ~

Very cluttered ladder desk. And stripy headscarf thing from Topshop.

I plan to watch Sleepy Hollow again this Autumn. I really love that witchy film, Johnny is such a baby in it! So young and cute! Also I really want to check out The Virgin Suicides. So many people are in love with that film, it intrigues me. Also I read a bit of the book at my friend Emily's house and it seemed interesting -beautifully written.
(Do check out Em's blog, she likes fashion illustrations and pretty things. She is also beautiful.)

Bye bye,

sleepy sunday

I've been lazy, apologies. Here:

CAT

Woolen socks are always the best. A sign of cosy times to come xo

And here are a couple of snippets from a painting I just finished for Holly's very late birthday present. It's very glittery/Frida inspired/floral.

LUNDY

Me drawing me
Lundy. I didn't post any of these pictures, so I thought I'd post a couple of very overdue ones.

Katze und mir
Hello all. I've been slightly (ha) neglecting my blogging duties (thus giving Sophie lots of responsibility, sorry Sophie :c ) so I've done an extra-long post to make up for it.
Love and stuff

Things that have happened.

Yesterday I had a day out with our dear friend Holly, who will hopefully be writing a few pieces for our blog soon.

My outfit consisted of my yellow shirt, a grey patterned pullover from a vintage stall at Llama festival, my red shorts and Doc Marten shoes.

Patrick Wolf, my current hair-spiration, and a better look at my new hair. Ta daa!

I made a Frida Kahlo/Lana Del Rey-style headdress thing with fake flowers. ~

I also spent AGES gluing individual pink beads and random tacky pink things onto an alice band. It's my kitsch little Crown Of Pinkness.

Today I haven't really done anything noteworthy. Except some maths. Which I am proud of, because I HATE and am AWFUL at maths. Oh and I made a video of another one of my songs, but I can't upload it yet because the camera ran out of battery and I need to charge it. Not that you care, probably... I'll shut up now. Just thought seeing as I'm temporarily in charge of this blog, I should keep it full of new stuff.

~Bye!~

Some pictures for you

Mum took this one of me with Mimi. I think it's a nice portrait, it's framed well.

Lovely Sophie with window light. I do love her face.

Soph took this one of my silhouette with baritone uke. I like this one a lot.

You would not believe how hard it is to take pictures of yourself with a manual camera.

Pretty hands. I prefaced the taking of this picture with "DON'T MOVE", as I wanted sooo badly to capture this moment. I just liked the way his hands were arranged.

Here, take a look at some of my watercolours.

I've got really into doing watercolours recently. I never really liked to use them before, because I found doing  tone difficult with them. But after lots of practice I think I've got the hang of them, huzzah!

Mimi probably trying to drink my painty water, the fiendish thing.
First of all, I am not a satanist, I just like the shape. Here's a portrait of the beautiful Lana Del Rey. Took me a while to do the hair, but I think it worked out quite well. ^^
Stencil-effect used on the flowers by dabbing them while they're still wet, and making sure I left gaps between the petals.

Veins painted on whilst skin colour was still damp so the blue bled into the skin background.

One fine day in Arlington

Moi moi,
So today I am going to have a daydreamy rambling session (the first of many, I'm sure) about a trip I took to Arlington (and, sneakily, Arlington Court) recently.
I knew it was going to be sunny already, but the uncharacteristically nice weather still carried with it an air of unexpectedness, and I was surprised when I left the house to find that my sundress felt too heavy and hot for the day.
We (my gentleman companion and I ) walked to Arlington Court and the pretty little church in it in the afternoon, stopping briefly along the way to look at the former house of a childhood friend. Oh, the nostalgia.
After wandering around and lying on a forest floor - where we ingeniously came up with the idea of employing Sophie to be our personal photographer - we walked back to his house, picking and eating wild strawberries along the way. Something about their littleness makes them so much more delicious
We listened to some Little Dragon and Boards of Canada at his house, met one of his cats, and then I went home.
It was a sleepy, summery day that I am glad turned out the way it did. I even made a new feline friend ('scuse the alliteration there).
