I fashioned some too-small tights into cute little pop socks! Also, note the shiny pink shoes *.* AREN'T THEY PRETTY?! I don't even want to wear them outside because they're so pretty and Barnstaple doesn't deserve them.

Appreciate the fluorescence. I went for a grungey pink look, with the DIY skeleton necklace from this post (although the picture here is awful, ha).

I have recently fulfilled my wish for a NEW ERA OF STYLE (be excited, yaaay)! 

A little while ago I decided to rethink my look. I'm all about the Harajuku styyyyyle now, which in my case consists of plastic things embellishing my head (hello kitty barrettes and flower crowns), pastel fluffy things (prettiness AND warmth, yay) and lots of customised vintageness. 

 I was inspired by pictures of the cute/scary/wacky outfits sported by Japanese guys n' dolls on the streets of Harajuku. My main aim is to achieve Harajuku-worthy style with my own twist.

This is VERY belated. But I drew this a while ago and thought maybe I should actually post it to it's namesake...

Also, I am very soon getting a hair cut. Not going to try and describe it, my wordy skills are not on my side today. But it's a change. ^^

ALSO, I was going to order some GORGEOUS Bodyline socks (knee-high, pale pink, with lace and ribbons) but the postage was too expensive (wah!). I shall try not to miss what I never had. :'c

Oh, and I still want to go to Harajuku. Shall post another pining-for-Japan type dealio soon.

Why I want to go to Harajuku.

There are many reasons. I find the language adorable, the culture fascinating, the fashion innovative; but I also think Harajuku would be the PERFECT place to people-watch. There are so many interesting characters that would be so inspiring for art, and I'd just love to glimpse the day-to-day life of those who call Harajuku home.

Also, just another thing I love; the fact that manga artists are treated like rockstars in Japan. I just think it's lovely that they get so much respect whereas here, it's generally only comic-book connoisseurs that actually know the artists of graphic novels. Like, someone who in this country (or at least in Devon) who wasn't obsessed with comics probably wouldn't know the authors or artists of any. Whereas in a place like Tokyo, I'm guessing it's nearly impossible to be ignorant of a mangaka, because manga is such a significant thing in Japan.
